Initiatives for human rights

Basic Approach

Human rights are the rights that all people have, and are one of the universal values. In recent years, as people have become more aware of human rights, there has been a growing interest in the magnitude of the impact that business has on human rights in corporate activities.SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) adopted by the United Nations in September 2015 aims to "eliminate world poverty" and "realize a sustainable world" based on the philosophy of "no one is left behind." Human rights are the foundation of the 17 goals. The Ricoh Lease Group complies with the International Code of Human Rights (such as the International Bill of Human Rights and the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work), and strives to respect human rights in the practice of the Ricoh Lease Group Code of Conduct and aims for a sustainable society.

Human Rights

Human rights of employees working in the Ricoh Leasing Group

Our Group has created a workplace environment that takes into consideration the human rights of its employees.

1

Rights concerning the health and safety of employees and working conditions such as working hours

We believe that the health of our employees is directly linked to management, and based on our basic stance of creating a vibrant work environment, we announce the Health Declaration and promote health and productivity management. In addition, we are strengthening and thoroughly managing working hours and overtime hours through a health management system linked to work management.

2

Respect for diversity and prohibition of discrimination

We believe that Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) is the foundation of Human Resources management, and we are working to create a workplace where diverse Human Resources can work vigorously regardless of gender, age-based, employment style, new graduate and mid-career hiring, disability, race, nationality, lifestyle, religion, sexual orientation, and gender recognition.

3

Nurturing human resources

Based on our Happiness αt work, we are developing a HR strategy to realize both business growth and employee happiness.Furthermore, based on the employees' harnesses that we have cultivated over the years, we will implement various measures to foster Human Resources that cause "variations" and enhance organizational empowerment.

4

Basic Policy on Customer Harassment

The Ricoh Leasing Group believes that ensuring a safe and comfortable workplace environment where every employee can maximize their abilities and thrive with physical and mental well-being is fundamental to providing high-quality services to our customers. Respect for human rights through transactions

1

Supply Chain Management

In recent years, addressing social issues such as human rights, in addition to environmental problems like climate change and plastic waste, has become an urgent priority. Against this backdrop, it is essential to advance business activities that place greater emphasis than ever before on sustainability-related elements such as the natural environment, working conditions, and human rights. Society expects proactive efforts toward realizing a sustainable society. Many of the social challenges we face are difficult for any single company to solve alone. We believe that progress can only be made with the understanding and cooperation of our business partners.Based on this recognition, we have established the "Supply Chain Sustainability Action Guidelines," which outline four key initiatives we ask our business partners to implement to advance sustainability.Moving forward, we will continue working with our business partners—who are vital partners to our group—to advance sustainability throughout the entire supply chain.

2

Construction of a remedy system

Grievance mechanism (complaint handling system)

Our group has established a grievance mechanism aimed at taking appropriate and effective remedial measures when consultations or reports regarding human rights issues arise. This mechanism consists of internal organizations and external specialized human rights complaint handling organizations and lawyers. Additionally, to address human rights issues arising in the supply chain of our group's business activities, which may require specialized expertise and judgment, we have joined the General Incorporated Association “Business and Human Rights Dialogue and Remedy Institution (JaCER),” an organization that supports and promotes complaint handling for member companies from a specialized perspective. This enables us to establish a system for swift response and resolution. Furthermore, for consultations or reports related to human rights from our group employees, we have established an internal reporting system and will continue to respond promptly.

Establishment of reporting and consultation desks

  • Supply chain consultation desk (contact point for human rights violations related to our business)
  • Employee reporting system (internal reporting)
Information on the reporting contact point is disclosed on the intranet, distributed in the Ricoh Leasing Group Code of Conduct booklet, and promoted through e-learning and other educational opportunities for executives and employees to raise awareness and encourage use of the contact point.
